My First Time 07/15/2011

We always remember our first time, right? Any first time experiences are always memorable. And I was in front of my PC one hot afternoon of the 15th of July when I heard I Can Fly on the Internet radio. Thanks a lot to the cool people behind the new CHR Internet radio in town, Monsterous Radio.

They first played my single on their Kanto Specials: a playing field for the local indie artists. Program starts at 3:00pm and lasts for an hour. But they will also add my track to their other programming. So basically, you can hear my song in that monstrous radio anytime. So my thanks to Shaun Young and the rest of the Monsterous crew. More power! Like them at Facebook.

Other Internet radios will follow suit, but I will always remember my first time.

The World's Most Beautiful Song 01/25/2011

We're Family by Andy Calope
There is a lot of good songs that I wish I wrote and this is one of them. You cannot hear this on the Internet, until now. I heard this song when I was a kid. It was part of the 4-cassette set released internally within the church way back in 1987. Those cassettes are now gone so I search the Internet for this song the other night and found out NO ONE posted this song online.

What a shame!

Compared to what we are hearing now on the radio, this song stands out way, way on top. So, with the technology we have now, I feel obliged to make a cover of this song. My respectful heads up to Ross Jutsum for writing the world's most beautiful song.

For your family.

We're Family
Ross Jutsum

Good to see we’re all together again
It’s a very special place
Well it’s no surprise
That gleam in your eyes
And that smile upon your face
With so many friends
Both old and new
There’s a feeling, oh so rare
The anticipation is felt all around
There’s excitement in the air

Because we’re family
And it’s so plain to see
For all eternity
We’ll be together, you and me
Now as we do our part
Keep dreaming in your heart
Of how we’ll always be
We’re family

When I'm gone I feel a void in my life
I miss our special bond
People say when you’re away for awhile
That the heart grows a little more fond
Now we’re back together
To give and live In peace and harmony
We are building for tomorrow
We are making history

Yes, it’s tough to stand up against the crowd
And to swim against the stream
But together we can say out loud
“Let’s fulfill our life-long dream"

For all eternity, we’re family

Singing Do Do Dodo Do Do 01/02/2011

But then again / It's good to get a call
Now and then / Just to say hello

There goes the words that's been ringing for days now. It's a serious matter of a Last Song Syndrome. Funny how a song carries you to a different realm every time you hear it. I find it obligatory to trace back where this song first inspired me, then teach it to a younger voice to inspire more people.
It takes a kid to sing a duet with Brandi Carlile that made this song a sweet treat.
My first try in a live audience to perform a typically unknown song. Luckily, it strike a chord. It became a regular in my solo gigs around the circuit.
As 2010 is about to end, I had to pass the song along. All year round we've been bombarded by low-class so-called radio hit songs but essentially heartless, soulless. So I just did my part in keeping the music alive starting with the next generation.
And as a new year begins, just had to sing it once more.. and keep on singin' do do dodo do do.

Positivity: Today Is A Better Day! 08/06/2010

Today is a BETTER day
Positivity. An adjective that characterized by or displaying certainty, acceptance, or affirmation. It is measured or moving forward or in a direction of increase or progress. It is explicitly or openly expressed or laid down. Google it and you'll have more definitions.

Having a positive outlook always has a price. Rhonda Bryne once said about The Law of Attraction: "Each of us is attracting in every moment of our lives. So when you feel that the law isn't working for you because you don't have what you want, realize that the law is responding to you. You are either attracting what you want or you are attracting the absence of what you want. The law is still working."

With all that's happening to me recently--quitting my job to pursue a dream--I don't have time to focus on something horizontal; flat. It's the best time to look at the bright side of life.

And what great way to be reminded about being positive was when I check my website's statistics an hour ago and was surprised with the top query on my site: TODAY IS A BETTER DAY!

So now I'm gonna pick up the pieces and follow my own advice. It's gonna be a sunny day tonight.

Finally after 6 months I got to write my first song of the year. It's been that long that I can feel the rust and squeakiness in songwriting. I always 'proctor' myself so not to write cliché and other over-used lyrics. And failed I did. The 6-month gap is too much to write another good lyric.

But what the heck, let's just consider this as a warm-up songwriting. Why not?

This is for my good friend Tisai.

You can't see anything with your eyes now
Theresa
You must feel everything with your heart

No way I'm gonna let go
Coz I'll go crazy without you
Don't go, you've got to know
That I still love you, I love you

Theresa
Let me kiss away all your tears
Theresa
Let me brush your hair so you'll see

No way I'm gonna let go
Coz I'll go crazy without you
Don't go, you've got to know
That I still love you, I love you

No way I'm gonna let go
Coz I'll go crazy without you
Don't go, please don't go
Coz I still love you, I love you

Inspired by CATTSKI LIVE DEMOS, I will be making my own series in the days to come. I will be featuring the 7 songs I wrote in 2009.

All videos are RAW! Just an amateur setup, using just natural light (the first shoot was in my bedroom using only my bedroom light. It's so dark., but that will do for the moment), using only an entry-level digicam with built-in mic.. you get the picture. It's totally raw (and hopefully bearable).

It's gonna be only me and you, and my guitar.
